Catch Up & Read is honored to share that our Literacy Coaching team has been named a finalist in D CEO’s 2026 Nonprofit and Corporate Citizenship Awards, presented in partnership with Communities Foundation of Texas.

The annual awards program recognizes North Texas nonprofit organizations, leaders, teams, and corporate partners that are strengthening communities across the region. This year’s program attracted nearly 900 nominations, with 136 finalists selected for recognition.

Catch Up & Read is a finalist in the Nonprofit Team of the Year: Midsize + Large category, a recognition of the certified educators who help power our impact across North Texas schools.

At each partner campus, Catch Up & Read Literacy Coaches work alongside teachers and school leaders to strengthen early literacy instruction. Their work includes professional development, in-the-moment coaching, data analysis, lesson modeling, family engagement, and high-dosage tutoring support for students who need additional help building reading skills.

In the last year, the Literacy Coaching team supported programming across 26 elementary campuses and helped train 175 Catch Up & Read teachers. Through professional development, ongoing coaching, and regular data review, coaches help teachers deliver effective, evidence-based literacy instruction in both English and Spanish.

The results reflect the strength of this model. During the last school year, 100% of Catch Up & Read students demonstrated reading growth. The program also strengthens teacher confidence and instructional capacity, with 96% of teachers surveyed reporting that Catch Up & Read built their instructional capacity, improved the quality of their instruction through professional development, and provided the lesson plans and materials they needed to grow.

“Our Literacy Coaching team is the engine behind Catch Up & Read’s impact,” said Carol Goglia, President & CEO of Catch Up & Read. “They bring deep instructional expertise, strong relationships, and a relentless commitment to helping students become confident readers. This recognition is a celebration of their leadership and the teachers, principals, families, and students they support every day.”

Catch Up & Read’s mission is to equip children from underserved communities to read on grade level by the end of third grade so they can graduate from high school and break the generational cycle of poverty. This finalist recognition affirms the power of that mission and the dedicated team working each day to make it possible.

Finalists will be featured in D CEO’s August issue, and winners will be announced at an awards event in July.

We are grateful to D CEO and Communities Foundation of Texas for this recognition, and especially grateful to our Literacy Coaching team, partner schools, teachers, families, donors, and community supporters who make this work possible.
