Saddled Up For Success: Teacher Professional Development at McShan Elementary

On August 16, more than 160 teachers, principals, and school staff from all 28 of our partner schools gathered at McShan Elementary for an engaging day of professional development with Catch Up & Read.

Directly on the heels of the first week of school, our educators showed up eager to learn, grow, and sharpen their skills. Their commitment reflects the theme guiding this entire school year: Saddle Up for Success

Throughout the day, participants rotated through hands-on trainings led by our Literacy Coaches showing how to leverage Catch Up & Read best practices in their classrooms.

The day also created a space for connection—educators from across Dallas, Richardson, and Fort Worth were able to exchange ideas, encourage one another, and strengthen their network of support that makes our program so impactful.

By the end of the day, teachers left with fresh inspiration, practical tools, and a renewed commitment to the children they serve. At Catch Up & Read, we believe that when teachers are empowered and equipped, students thrive. Thanks to the dedication of our amazing educators, this year is already off to a strong start.

Here’s to saddling up for another year of success for our teachers, our students, and the entire Catch Up & Read community!
